Change an LPG Cylinder
Forklifts are powered by various sources. They could run from gasoline, LP gas or liquid propane, diesel or battery. LP is a clean burning fuel preferred for many uses. There are various facilities which have large liquid propane supplies on site. This allows forklifts to be refueled whenever they require. In other places, the facility would have spare LP cylinders that are able to be changed out when the machinery has to be refueled.
In order to prevent potentially serious injury, specific precautions must be taken when changing out an LP cylinder. Like for instance: be sure to put on the appropriate safety equipment like heavy gloves, goggles or safety glasses. Make certain that you turned off the forklift ignition before changing out the tank. Then, close the cylinder valve by turning it until it is closed firmly. Utilize your hand to loosen the hose connection to the tank. Don't forget that it will turn in the opposite direction of a normal connection and never utilize a metal tool or any type of wrench on these connections. They are meant to be tightened only by utilizing the hand.
